On Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the kick-off event for the Worst Case Ontario Poetry Reading Tour. While I already knew Jessica Bebenek and JC Bouchard (they’re both previous Quilliad contributors!), it was a pleasure to become acquainted with the work of JM Francheteau, dalton derkson, and Julie Mannell. These five poets are visiting nine cities across Canada and the United States, and they started with Toronto. The work performed was alternately clever, funny, and touching (sometimes all three at once), and I’m glad I made it out to see them. I was able to grab both a copy of the WCO chapbook (only $5.00!) and a few shots of the readings, which you can see below:
